Single-shot measurement of temperature and pressure using laser-induced thermal gratings with a long probe pulse

چکیده
We report accurate and precise single-shot measurements of temperature and pressure using laser induced thermal grating spectroscopy (LITGS). The use of a flashlamp-pumped dye laser (FLPDL) as a probe for the induced gratings is described and a fast method of data analysis using Fourier methods is reported. Thermal gratings were induced by 8 ns pump pulses from a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser and the signals were produced by scattering 2μs long pulses, of energy 200mJ, from the FLPDL. LITGS signals were obtained from NO2 /N2 mixtures at pressures in the range 1 – 40 bar and temperatures between ambient and 400K. Temperature values were derived from the data with an accuracy of 0.42% and single-shot precision of 0.16%. Pressure values were obtained with an accuracy of 5.7% and a precision of 1.4% limited by uncertainties in the gas kinetic parameters. PACS: 82.40.Py 42.65 42.62b

Optical Opacity of Laser Induced Plasma in Distilled Water with NaCl and TiO2 Nanoparticles Impurities
In this paper, the dynamic behavior of laser induced optical breakdown in impure water was studied by using a pump- probe technique. The plasma was induced by a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser pulse (with pulse duration ~10 ns) in distilled water with two types of impurities: (I) a solution (highly diluted salt water as a conductor) and (II) a colloidal (TiO2 in colloidal nanoparticle form as a dielectric...
متن کاملTime-resolved measurement of the local equivalence ratio in a gaseous propane injection process using laser-induced gratings.
For the first time laser-induced gratings (LIGs) have been used for the investigation of a non-stationary pulse-repetitive injection process of gaseous propane, C(3)H(8), into air. By recording and evaluating single-shot LIG signals it was possible to determine, on a cycle-averaged basis, the temporal evolution of the local (within a probe volume 300 microm in diameter and 10 mm in length) equi...
متن کاملHeat Transfer in Semitransparent Medium Caused by Laser Pulse
In this paper, the combination of conduction with radiation into a semitransparent medium which includes absorption, emission and scattering has been investigated. In order to Study the conduction in medium, the Non-Fourier heat conduction has been applied. In this model there is a time delay between heat flux and temperature gradient. Also, in contrast with Fourier heat conduction, the speed o...

Nanocomposite materials, including noble metal nanoparticles embedded in a dielectric host medium, are interesting because of their optical properties linked to surface plasmon resonance phenomena. For studding of nonlinear optical properties and/or energy transfer process, these materials may be excited by ultrashort pulse laser with a temporal width varying from some femtoseconds to some hund...
متن کاملNonlocal thermoelastic semi-infinite medium with variable thermal conductivity due to a laser short-pulse
In this article, the thermoelastic interactions in an isotropic and homogeneous semi-infinite medium with variable thermal conductivity caused by an ultra-short pulsed laser heating based on the linear nonlocal theory of elasticity has been considered. We consider that the thermal conductivity of the material is dependent on the temperature. The surface of the surrounding plane of the medium is...
